03/20/2008 - Schering-Plough Corp. is being sued by a man who claims his wife died as a result of using the drug company's NuvaRing contraceptive device, according to a statement by the man's lawyers Thursday.
The lawsuit, filed at the Superior Court of New Jersey, claims the makers, distributors and marketers concealed the dangers and health risks of using the device.
Organon USA Inc first manufactured NuvaRing. Schering-Plough bought the company from Akzo Nobel at the end of 2007. All the companies are cited as defendants in the lawsuit.
